
SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KGO) -- A large high school student walkout broke out in the East Bay to protest ICE Wednesday morning.

The protest started in the parking lot of the Walmart on Hesperian Boulevard in San Leandro.
The demonstrators are students from six different high schools in San Lorenzo, Hayward, and Berkeley.

Students could be seen lining Hesperian Boulevard, with some even crossing into traffic.
Some students have also taken over the median, the sidewalk and the front of a Starbucks store.
This comes as tensions are rising nationwide over immigration enforcement tactics, following a second deadly shooting involving federal agents in Minneapolis.
